Internet based business volume is growing at an amazing rate. The global economy and sever business downturn in many countries is driving this. The number of people starting an online business is increasing daily. A large number of people are moving online because they want to earn a backup income. Many people are coming online because they simply can’t find a job in the offline world. The online marketplace is huge, and is exploding each and every day.
If you want to capitalize on this growing trend and marketplace, you have to have some online real estate. You have to have a website. It can be a company replicated site or your own. I am very keen on you having your own website for a number of important reasons.
There are a number of ways to do this but over the years it has been established that having your own website is the best way to go. You own the asset and have control over it. You can display the information you want to share and you can change it when you want. You are in control of your own destiny here.
A major reason to have a personal website is the fact that we need to market ourselves on the Internet. When we arrange a “borrowed” resource for our marketing material, we are always limiting ourselves. These limitations are in a number of areas. First of all, we are limited on the amount of content we can publish on the “borrowed” resource.
This seriously hampers our efforts to get into a practice of extensive marketing. When you are working on a “borrowed” or free hosting setup, you do not have total control on the amount and location of your content. Many free hosting websites control the content quantity as well as the type of content you can publish. This is not good when you are trying to brand yourself and get the word out about your products and services.
Always remember, a company site is there to focus on and display what the company wants people to see. They are not going to focus on you the representative nearly enough. This fact alone should make it clear that you need to have your own personal website. Until you have your own site and story out on the Internet, you will be limiting your success and profit potential.
A personal website is required in real estate, personal training and coaching, and many other business ventures. Having your own site is critical in any business where your customers need to”know you, like you and trust you”. With the current state of the economy and the general paranoia and skepticism that is rampant in the world today, it just makes sense for you to have your own personal site to “stand out in the crowd” and let people know you are a real, approachable person.
